About Us

North End Connect Inc. is an Indigenous-led, non-profit community service organization dedicated to advancing digital equity and fostering reconciliation in Winnipeg’s North End. This vibrant and historic neighborhood, located north of Downtown Winnipeg, has long been a cultural mosaic, home to diverse communities including Indigenous Peoples and Newcomers. Despite its rich heritage, the North End faces challenges such as economic disparities and limited access to digital resources.

Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by providing affordable internet connectivity, access to technology, and digital literacy training tailored to the unique needs of the community. By aligning our efforts with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s recommendations, we strive to create inclusive opportunities that honor Indigenous knowledge and traditions.

The North End Connect project is a collective effort of several local community groups, technical experts, and researchers. All participating groups share the belief that there are barriers to their client’s ability to access and safely utilize online resources and services and something needs to be done about it.
